IT'S TIME FOR CHANGE.
HERE ARE MY PLANS TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.
PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT.
"Water is a sacred resource." The Secretary of the Interior said this recently while describing a new Interagency Working Group which will attempt to provide drought assistance to U.S. communities.
Colorado--and the greater West--is in a mega-drought. The impact on farmers and ranchers and forests and communities throughout Colorado is intense. We need to work together, all of us, to find ways to survive and even thrive during these trying times when our "sacred resource" of water is under such stress. I will help find that path forward as your representative in Congress, to ensure a healthy, colorful, thriving Colorado.
PROTECTING OUR FARMERS AND RANCHERS
Farmers and ranchers are essential to our food supply. Extreme drought continues to threaten their livelihoods and the production of our food.
It is imperative that we preserve and protect water supplies throughout Colorado for agriculture and livestock use. When I’m elected, I will strive to protect water rights and provide resources to maintain and upgrade irrigation systems, making them more efficient in times of drought.
REBUILDING OUR STATE
Infrastructure encompasses so much more than roads and bridges.
It means public health infrastructure to ensure fair and equitable, affordable health care for all Coloradans. We need fully-staffed medical clinics throughout our district, so that we do not have to drive hours to access medical care.
It means reliable rural broadband so business can relocate here, people can work remotely, and students can access the education they need.
It means funding, education and support to drilling and mining communities as we inevitably transition to renewable energy.
